Do you have to have nero to make a VCD/DVD ?

Do you have to have nero to make a VCD/DVD ?
i don't have any burning software, all i do to burn stuff is drag the files into the disk folder and then click "Write These Files To CD"

SO

Do you have to have nero to make a VCD/DVD ?

No you don't have to have Nero specifically, but you DO have to have some sort of burning software, and you say you don't, but I hate to break it to you - you DO have burning software, otherwise you would no be able to burn anything... You probably have burning software installed that you got with your cdwriter and it has been associated with your explorer by default, so even though you don't actually see the program being opened - it's there, believe me.

There are also other factors involved in being able to answer your question about "burning" or "making" a VCD/DVD, for instance, what do you want to make them from? An avi, an original dvd? Or are the files already in vcd or dvd format (in which case all you do have to do is burn them). If they are avi's or you have a dvd, you will need to encode to the proper format first. Most burning software is capable of encoding as well, although I recommend using software that is dedicated to encoding specifically. TMPGEnc is good for encoding to mpg.
