xvid movie with mpeg layer 3 audio

For the life of me I can't figure out what is wrong, I need some input please.When I burn a movie the audio sound is not clear or it is breaking up,can't make it out.I have the xvid codec installed and the movie is clear, it is just the sound that is puzzling .Thanks
