Worse, not better than the golden days

I very rarely use the search function to locate movies on peer.
Usually I will use either nap or eMule.

Yesterday I thought sod it; it’s been a few years so let’s try a peer search.

What a waste of time that was!!

All I wanted was the very common Big lebowski.
Every single result that had multiple sources was fake, or at least I assumed they were...
None connected and every users had 3000 files shared.

It was very disappointing as I heard that WinMX was supposed to be better than it was before doomsday.

Results like that must be very off putting for people using WinMX for the first time.

Anyhoo, in the end I got it downloaded from eMule in a couple of hours.

Of course its not the fault of WinMX that so many fake files exist, its just a shame.

Every search u have gotten would have downloaded, debaser.

The speeds were faster than b4. Less ppl in queue I guess. At least, the ppl I helped in Vladd44 Help room experience more awesome speeds than b4 riaa crackdown. And less leeches as more ppl come together to really share to contribute to the WinMX community. I noticed more ppl sharing more rare files than previously which I could not find b4 on WinMX b4 the riaa crackdown.

I used to ONLY BT my movies. Now I just get them off WinMX as the downloading times on WinMX r getting more comparable to BT speeds. The quality of the movies have improved and the new movies r made available much sooner than b4. For songs I have always downloaded from winmx, can't get a better variety elsewhere

To avoid fakes in yr searches, simply search like this :

-c: artistename songname
-user

Simply input the 1st line *-c: artistename songname* into the top line of Search and input *-user* into the 2nd line of Search and click Audio and click Search.

An eg of searching a song called My Immortal by the artiste Evanescence would be searched this way :

-c: Evanescence My Immortal
-user

<<< when u search that way all yr searches will download.

the - minuses the fake results in the c drives and user folders that RIAA love to flood fakes in so that is why the above format works.

If u r looking for a movie, search this way :

-c: moviename
-user

(don't forget to select video b4 clicking on Search)

Eg: if searching for Transformers, search like this :

-c: Transformers
-user

Well Debaser, a few comments leap to mind:

- Winmx has never been fabulos for movies, one word: Bittorrent
- Winmx is indeed musically rich and still is
- If users would quit using pie.infos hosts only patch, there wouldnt be users for the cartel to conect and flood too, as its these users that are responsible for assisting the cartel to flood the network.

Its always been horses for courses, i have rarely used Winmx for movies as bittorrent is the daddy there, but then Winmx is gold for mp3's and a pretty good selections of albums, and TV shows

I have helped hundreds of MXPIE users to uninstall the MXPIE patch version 3.6, 3.5 and 3.4 distributed by mxpie.info and know on average, that 80% of MXPIE patch users DO NOT use PG2 at all. I know cos not only I have to get them to uninstall their MXPIE patch version 3.6, 3.5 or 3.4, I also have to get them to uninstall their PG2 for our patch Vladd's Pie Auto Updater to work with its PGLlite. And for 80% of those MXPIE users...PG2 was not even installed in the 1st place.

Now it is EVEN worse.... I can hardly find any MXPIE patch user using PG2 at all.

There is the original Mxpie team located at this site, and its home page www.mxpie.com and there is a rogue breakaway group that i wont provide a link for. Needless to say the original MXpie team currently offer a blocking patch using the accurate WmW blocklist, the rogue pie team offer a hosts file only and then simply "recommend" PG2. This is a flawed effort at blocking, serveral times i have visited their help forum to find plenty of users who have not installed PG2 and have not bothered with the winmx specific blocklist. As Love rightly points out, we get stacks of users of the flawed pie patch into the help room, many havent even heard of PG2, its these folks that give the Riaa something to connect too. I have helped a number of users convert to the real patch, several of these have been running primary connections with NO protection.

What you must be made aware of, not only do these unprotected users allow the Riaa to flood the network with fake files, they also allow a secondary effect of massive DDOS's on innocent users making searches for non copyrighted material.

The REAL MXpie team is currently looking to improve by offering a new patch written by a Winmx user, watch this space.
