Worse, not better than the golden days

I very rarely use the search function to locate movies on peer.
Usually I will use either nap or eMule.

Yesterday I thought sod it; it’s been a few years so let’s try a peer search.

What a waste of time that was!!

All I wanted was the very common Big lebowski.
Every single result that had multiple sources was fake, or at least I assumed they were...
None connected and every users had 3000 files shared.

It was very disappointing as I heard that WinMX was supposed to be better than it was before doomsday.

Results like that must be very off putting for people using WinMX for the first time.

Anyhoo, in the end I got it downloaded from eMule in a couple of hours.

Of course its not the fault of WinMX that so many fake files exist, its just a shame.

As I am sure since this post, many people have told you - use WinMX for short audio or application files, NOT for downloading whole movies. The Peer to Peer networks were never designed for 4 Gb size downloads!

Use Aries or Azureus or Micro Torrent, or any bit torrent client for downloading large files, where the swarm system forces leeches to share as they download, often many leeches are non technical and that is even better as most Bit torrent client default settings force them to give back as much as they take which is sort of cool.

Unless you have a multiple souce client such as WinMX and loads of Peers all with exactly the same file AND connect to all of them it takes an age to download large files on P2P. Bit torrent gets round that using the seeder and peer system creating large 'swarms' of hundreds of clients all sharing bits within the swarm giving download speeds (on good torrents) which will use all your available upload and download bandwidth.

WinMX however is simple the best way to download a single track or song... Nothing comes close.. No album fillers, just the track you want and typically at speeds of 30 to 40Kb per seconds from a single peer.

I myself can give download speeds of up to 140Kb per second to one downloader if they can handle that at there end. Often many can not due to sheer GREED as they download 20 files or more at the same time... sigh

Erm..what ??? Winmx is OF COURSE for downloading whole movies.
Go to chatrooms and browse the people in it there and you will see many big whole movie files. Share something, trade and you will get some. Maybe not the oldest one but newer files.
