What do I use to play incomplete avi?

Im a mac user and have ibook g4 os x. I have this anime downloading via bittorent and I want to view to know if it has subtitle. its 400mb and I only have 70mb download. I have mplayer but it wouldn't work. What do i use? pls help and thanks in advance!

I'm not sure if it'll work with a bt file, and it download differently than what I'm more familiar with.

If anything works, I'd say that the VLC player from www.videolan.org/vlc would do the trick.

It did'nt I downloaded it and it just play but theres no video or sound to it

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but almost positive you can't play a BT till it's completed.. it downloads in bit & pieces and is not put together till finished :oops

Canada Joe is right, you won't be able to preview a bt file (almost always, anyway) because it downloads differently than a file on p2p. It's in bits and pieces and the bits don't get downloaded in order, so it's not like the incomplete you have is the beginning of the file.
