Sorry, I meant another P2P (didn't even know BT NOT the same as P2P!) program like WinMX.....anyway...I found another program LimeWire, and I'm beginning to learn/like that program......not the same as my good old WinMX, but I'm still learning and it seems to return excellent search results (avi/mpeg)!

I hope someone FIX the DL/UL probelms with WinMX soon........given a choice, I still prefer WinMX!

Why did you ditch WinMX though :? That is a good p2p client, and it runs on both OpenNap and WPNP. I never even knew there were an prolems? What are they?

And why not use bittorrent for video? Its about as fast as it gets for video.

Because my stupid ISP (Shaw.ca Vancouver) is filtering P2Ps, I could DL but could not UL (only 0.25KBs) and it's not fair to other WinMX users whom I'm downloading from! Come to think of it, if only a few major ISPs start to mess/filter P2Ps, a lot of people will experience bad DL/UL speeds even when your own ISP is not doing it, right?

The problem is we only have two major ISP here, one is Shaw(cable) and the other is Telus(ADSL), the rests are just resellers of these two major ISP.

Well, I found a new P2P Shareaza and it's pretty good BUT NOT AS GOOD as WinMX! with WInMX, I've full control whereas Shareaza/LimeWire/eMule... etc i don't have total control. I want my WinMX back *&^%&^$%#@$%^

...Hmm, I don't know about this, but make yourself a proxy server and run WinMX through the proxy. That way, your ISP won't be able to limit your DL through other ports as your proxy only allows access to one. I haven't use WinMX in ages so I don't know if its configurable to work through a proxy. Someone, please tell me whether I have a point or not cause I'm not sure about this. 8)

Expect very slow speeds. Proxy servers are meant for web browsing.

My school uses a proxy for all internet access, and I get 150 KBps on IE DL. So if you are able to configure it through a proxy, I don't see why it wouldn't get those speeds unless you purposely limit it too.

That's a bit different. Your school's proxy server is probably at your school. You are on the same local network with it, so you get very hight speeds between you and the server.

Free servers are a different case. They have much more limited upload speeds, as they have to pay for that internet access speed, instead of being on a LAN where speed grows on trees.

One client (bitcomet 0.60) encrypts the protocol header to avoid Shaws filters.
