G Spot will tell you what extension it should have. If it doesn't match what the file has then change it to what G Spot says it is & open with the applicable player (if not avi then don't use DivX Player) Image

even if its an avi file, if you dont have the codec you cant play it - but if you look in gspot it will tell you (or should :-)) which codec you need, and you can generally google it to find a download, then open the video in your favourite player (personally i hated divx player so never bothered using it - even wmp is better if you ask me, lol)

I find WMPlayer 10 to be an excellent player. I use ZoomPlayer for it's versatility while editing vids but WMP10 is a vast imrovement over previous WMP's (it even allows ripping to mp3 format..how's that for givin' the folks what they want?)
