VirtualDub Problem

Postby ][v][OTOBOT on Mon Mar 01, 2004 1:18 am

After I follow all the instructions that are on the Virtual Dub help page here at this site. When I get to the last part where I need to "save Wav" it gives me this error message. "No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format." So what in the world am I doing wrong? Oh also It may not mean anything but I accidentlty hit the save wav button one time before I set the rest of the VirtualDub up & it started to save the wav. But it won't do anything after I set everything.

More information needed... WHat are you trying to do, save the audio as an uncompressed pcm wav so that you can use it in TMPGEnc? If so, try using an easier tool to do it. Download "AVI Audio decompresssor" (you can get it in the Tools section of http://www.rita.LT) and decompress the audio of the avi using the decompressor before sticking it into TMPGEnc (real easy, just one click), and then use the pcm file it creates for either just the audio source in tmpgenc, or you can use the pcm file for both the video and audio source in tmpgenc.

If that is not what you are trying to do, please supply more information, because VirtualDub can do many things and what I wrote above is only a guess about what you may be trying to do.
