Well lol...where to start. I got my cable and router hooked up bout 3 months ago, I was so excited. They set me up with a Arris Touchstone modem, I bought 2 wireless Linksys network adapter and a wireless g WRT54GS with 35% speed booster router.I am on the pc with 1 wireless network adapter.Everything seemed to be going well, I set up my BitComet for torrent download, and I noticed that the speeds were horrible and actually pathetic for cable...the speed was 15-20 kB/s.I let the torrent sit and download for hours with dozens of peers alot of seeders. Then I read about port forwarding and also the NAT I had, I disabled the router firewall...port forwarded neccesary ports for BitComet to function properly.I saw Local and Remote connections which shows that the port forwarding worked, but I still had shitty speeds 20-25 kB/s on well seeded torrents.I even tweaked my TCP connections limit to 50 since I run on Windows XP SP2 so I figured that may help some.I have configured my upload to 80% of my maximum upload rate, I believe my max is 256 upload so it would be 25 I guess...I have tried everything..read every guide there is and nothing is helping at all. I would really appreciate any help I can get....
I can't think of anything you haven't done, except you don't say which port you use. Maybe that's is blocked by your isp, or they throttle P2P. I know some US isps have slowed WinMX connections, but I don't know if they have done the same to Torrents. Cox is one i know that throttles. Try a higher port number than standard.
Well..thanks for posting, appreciate it.I use port 43029,everything is going good now I raised my Max connections and connections to keep limit.Everything starts out fine with 30-60 kB/s speeds, but like 5 minutes later it will die down again to like 10 kB/s.I called my ISP and they said up front they were throttling me I asked what limits I had and they said around 30 MB for 10 minutes.I have held by that limit and they are still freaking throttling me!
