Upgraded to Qwest DSL = NO DOWNLOADS?

I recently upgraded to Qwest DSL and am having NO luck in getting my WinMX to work. It worked perfectly on dial-up. I have the 3.53 version.

I am timing out on EVERY single file I wish to download. It says I have a connection, but nothing ever moves.

I get error messages like:
No TCP port for incoming connection
No UDP port for incoming & outgoing packets.

I have followed the "Magic Formula" to the LETTER --- no luck. I have downloaded the Pie Auto Updater and the Guardian Lite thing. Makes no difference.

I am running Windows XP SP2 and have turned the firewall completely off. I do have Zone Alarm and turned that off as well. I have Symantec AntiVirus, but I really don't think that is doing anything. I have added WinMx and Pie Auto Updater to my list of acceptable programs (not that it makes a difference because the firewalls are turned off). I have no routers or anything of the sort.

NO LUCK.

PLEASE -- can't someone out there help me. I can't believe that in actually trying to get a faster download speed I have ruined the one and only program that ever worked for me.

Thanks Canada Joe. I had read that post earlier today, but wanted to post my own since it's not the same DSL company.

No luck in changing to those settings either.

Guess it must mean my ISP has blocked me. I have no other resources. I can't afford to get cable internet, and signed a 2-year agreement to get the "price for life" from Qwest.

Doin' a little reading @ DSL reports (http://www.dslreports.com/).. they say Quest doesn't block any ports so it is probably your settings... If they are right.

You tried: Switch to "Unable to Accept Incoming TCP" AND "Unable to
send or recieve UDP datagrams ?

My settings probably are NOT right -- dial-up was SO much easier. I don't know where to look and what to do. As said before, I have gone thru the "magic formula" not once but twice now. During the set-up process is where I get the error messages about the no TCP/UDP ports. However, like I also said, switching to no ports available has same results.

Now I'm having a hard time even getting any search results to show up.

Also, why is it I get two WinMx start buttons? one says "Start WinMX" while the other just says "WinMX" both take me to the same screen ... could that be part of the problem?

I guess the next question to ask is are there any other programs out there like WinMX that I can try since I can't get this thing to work anymore?

Or are there any other Qwest users out there that can chime in and help me out figuring out my port settings?

Just tried to call and of course they are closed.

I suggest you call the help number at your ISP (when they open) .. mebbe the modem has port settings.. they would know the answers .. you ain't the first one to have problems upgrading.

Did you get this corrected? Does the modem qwest supplied you with have a built in router? If so, then you need to forward the ports in the router. The best option for you is if you don't know how to forward your ports is to check the box in winmx to unable to receive incoming and it will set the port to "0" and allow downloads.
