UPDATE! New fix for Primary and Secondary Connections

A patch that allows you to connect as primary or secondary has been released.

Get the Current PIE Patch here

Thanks are in order for Thanks to Sabre, Ranma, Pip, Darc, and KM for all their hard work on this!

I am sure there are others that thanks is due.......

I did what is written there, just downloaded the zip file, copied it to C\Windows as I am using Windows 98 and erasterted my computer. When I try to install the WinMx the initizaling test always fails for me. What shall I do? Please help, thank you very much!

I just finished making a DNS file with the secondary only address....

BUT heh, since I made everything an alias for WinMX.com I just had to change that entry and everything worked.

It does take a bit to connect, but if you're patient, it does connect.

I wish I could make my DNS server availible, but by employer *frowns* on such things (of course, I'm supposed to be blocking p2p for everyone here and I do, I just don't consider myself "everyone").

I don't want to worry anyone, but don't you think that winmx will be being watched by the RIAA? I think its all a bit fishy to me and I am gonna quit with mx for a while. I ain't ready for a huge fine! if anyones got any good information on this whole shut down situation I would appreciate it. thanks

the patch works great.... at least 450 chat rooms already backup and running on mx.... uploads and downloads,etc all working like new... so patch Definetly works.....
