RE: NEW HOSTS FILE

could someone please help i am running windows98se i go into windows c:windows to replace file but there are 2 hosts/sam files there 1 is "HOSTS.SAM" and the otheris "LMHOSTS.SAM"
could someone please tell me do i need to replace both (HOSTS.SAM & LMHOSTS.SAM) or just the HOSTS.SAM file ??????

you have to go into the system32f file then into drivers then into ect and there should only be 1 file called host

I have tried various host files, and none have worked for me yet. But Im sure we ( well you clever peeps ) will get there.

I would do anything I could to help. but I dont know this system like some of the people out there who really seem to know how this works inside out.

YEAH THE PATCH REALLY DOES WORK . BUT AM HAVIN PROBS WITH WCS THOUGH THINK ITS A CASE OF MESSIN WITH THE PORTS TILL ITS SUSSED.. BTW NICE WORK ON THE PATCH GUYS U REALLY THE RIAA'S ARSES

hi can sum 1 help dont know why i cant get pass connection test ive added the patch to the right folder can you configure manually at all

i dont think eny1 who has just a secondary connection can connect to the network.
peps who use both primary and secondary seem to conect with out much hassle but if you on a network connection then i think this patch is usless but nice work on making it and alowing meny peps to re-connect.
im gonna start ares again till i hear enything new but thatnks for everything

cant get the patch to work, did exactly like instructions said and still isn't connecting, so will just have to wait until someone creates something just a bit easier. however for all that deleted your winmx here you go

An overload of secondary users will only increase an already strained situation.
