C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc is a system folder in W2k , XP , NT

you unzip the file and put it in this folder , there is nothing to install
dont rename it , the filename is " host " only , no extension

then start WinMX and try to connect , needs a bit time but works

My sincere appreciation for you people.

As for the RIAAs and MPAAs of this world... well... what was that phrase in Jurassic Park ? Ah yes: you may try all you want to confine and contain nature, but it won't work - nature will find its own way.

Sorry, RIAA and MPAA, all your hard work and money invested in all those dirty little methods of yours in the past several months just went down the drain with a simple 2 days of hacking from smarter people than you. Ouch, that gotta hurt eh ? :(

Hi MrSensualEros,
1. Download the patch
2. Click Open
3. Extract the file (if not using Windows XP)
4. Right-click on the extracted file and select 'Copy'
5. Then go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc (on Windows XP)
6. Right-click and select 'Paste'
7. If it asks you, do you want to replace this file, select Yes

Take care

No don't rename or delete anything, you've done it correctly.

Oh Shit! I deleted the host.sam, as an earlier post said there should be only 1 host file in the etc folder, with the .sam only being a sample.

What can I do now? Its gone from recycle too!

Does it matter if you open the driver file and then paste the patch in the folder?

After you restart winmx, must you have it set to primary? Do you do anything with the settings?
