UPDATE! New fix for Primary and Secondary Connections

you know everyone...I love winmx...but I do not want to get into any trouble for simply downloading movies and watching them because I have a lame ass hubby that won't take me out to one...!

Is this illegal and what are the chances of getting caught?

Seriously...don't mean to panic everyone...but anyone know what's going on?

I thought this crap was legal as long as we didn't sell the crap?

Ever since winmx went down, I have had nothing but troubles with it. I have the latest patch, and for some reason, I can barely find any sources for downloads and there is never any more than 20 people in my queue, (and I do have lots of files to share, even the new harry potter). I even deleted my winmx 3.54 beta 4, uninstalled the pie patch, and installed it all again and it doesnt get any better. I wonder if I would have better luck with a primary connection, but I cannot connect to primary, it says my TCP and UDP ports are no good.

Does anyone have any advise for me.

could be that WinMX doesn't have the user base it used to...
alot of previous users left, the minute they couldn't connect

Chris - in order to connect to primary you will need to forward the ports used by your winmx through your router. www.portforward.com will guide you through this process, i would also advise installing PG2 available here http://www.mxpie.com/downloads.html to help keep the network free from flooders.

With regards to users on Winmx, estimates from a few weeks back now suggested around 250,000 users reconnected, this is down from an estimated 3-8million users worldwide at the height, the trick is, be patient, continue sharing files and encouraging your friends to get patched and back online.

20 people in queue isn't all that suprising, isn't that the default setting for AEQ? It's been a while since I did a brand-new install, so I may be wrong here.
