A new gameshow on Turkish television will pit rabbis, imams, monks and priests against each other in an attempt to convert sworn aetheists to their respective religions.
In Penitents Compete (Tovbekarlar Yarisiyor in Turkish), religious leaders will seek to convert at least one of the 10 atheists in each episode to their faith. Those that crack will win a pilgrimage to the spiritual home of their newly chosen faith, Muslims will go to Mecca, Jews and Christians will go to Jerusalem and Buddhists will go to Tibet, the Guardian reports.

I don't get it. Why would a non-believer want to go on a game show where only losers win? You can only win if you are weak minded enough to buy some crock of bullshit, which in that case you aren't really a sworn atheist, because you entered with the hope of being convinced that something other than what you currently believe or not believe is true. The whole concept of the game show implies that contestants have some doubts and are seeking to replace it with religion, in some form. And if they have those doubts and are seeking religion, then they are not true sworn atheists, are they?
And the real winners, the ones that don't crack and swallow the bullshit, they get nothing. They should be rewarded with some prize, too, and in my opinion it should be worth more than a trip to some "holy land", since they had to subject themselves to essentially what I would consider torture. (just imagine being locked in a room full of mandos, forced to listen to their bullshit, and you are not allowed to punch them)
Would you play a game of Russian Roulette, where the prize of a diamond studded golden casket goes to the one that gets the bullet and survivors don't even get a lousy T-shirt?
