Does anybody have a diffinitive list of the ports and protocals used with bit torrent clients?

I'm having a hell of a time getting through our firewall. When I monitor what ports are used in Torrent Storm, I note some unpublished ones are called. In trying to use Azures, I note a number of ports called in java.

I can't find documentation so I need to know what ports and protocals open and to use.

Your help much appriciated.

for inbound connections you mean? thats an option in most clients, you can select whichever port you want - there is a standard default one of 6881+, but you can set them to whatever you want... one thing to note though is that many clients will use a different port for each torrent, so if you run 3 torrents then it will use for example 6881 6882 and 6883, or whatever the ports are set to

as for outbound connections, just allow all outbound connections, as many people dont use standard ports (because of filtering by ISPs) - the most important ones would be 6881-6889 and whichever port the tracker you're using is on so that you could at least connect to standard ports, but as i said allow all is best

I'm trying to reconfigure now. Seems I got some bad advice on protocals too.

Opening more than just 6881 seems to be working....

I was previously told 6681 on up was the range. I'll keep trying ....

there is a standard firewall manual, it's a manual with a section for each of the "standard" firewalls
