Torrent software kills my PC

Hi.

I have some really weird problems with torrent software (any software).

When downloading files using Azureus (or alternatives), after a few minutes my pc locks up and freezes for about 10 seconds, then becomes active again, then freezes up and then cuts out and restarts.

I had the same problem a few years ago and couldn't resolve it. Somehow it ended up working by itself. After a total computer upgrade I have reinstalled windows and am having the same problem.

Between freezes I have opened task manager and during the 10 second freeze my CPU usage shoots up to 100%.

Can anybody please help? I need my torrents!

find out what your max ul and dl is, and limit your speeds to 80% of it, that should alleviate your problem.

It's not worked :(

My typical download rate is around 400kb/s. I capped Azureus to 80kb downlaod and 15kb upload.

Still having the same problem though
