I just DL'ed a PC game, and now what do I do with all the .rar files? I tried extracting them and I dont think it did anything. I did find the auto-run icon for the game and when I try to install it, it says please insert CD to continue. I thought since I DL;ed it, that I wouldnt need the CD. Am I doing something wrong here? I never done this before and dont really know what to do.

insert the cd and see what happens..it could be an ISO image..

There might be a .txt or .nfo file (open with notepad) included in the download that would tell you what to do.

I have heard about this stuff, but since downloading PC games is illegal I have never done it, and can only tell you what I have heard.

Extract the contents of the rar file to a temp folder, say on your desktop. You should be able to click on the first one, say rar.001 and the rest are auto. Then you could find an image, say an .iso, .bin or .mdf and .mds which are Alcohol 120% and also .ccd which is a Clone CD image. You can burn all these to CD or mount with a virtual drive such as Daemon. You could also just have all the parts of the game, which is possible since you found a install icon, which you could also burn to disc as data.

After you have installed it you will need a No CD crack. This are used when you make back up copies of games you own, but I hear this will also work with downloaded games. Look for a folder called Deviance or Crack in the stuff you downloaded. If it is not there then there are a few sites where u can get cracks from. GameCopyWorld and GameBurnWorld are two I know. Install the crack into the folder the game installed to, such as C :\Program Files\Games\illegall downloaded games, where it will ask you if you want to replace an .exe. Say yes. Then when you use the icon on your desktop for the game it should run.

Just remember that downloading games is illegal and I'm sure nobody here condones that.

And finally, if you like the game, go out and buy it.
