TMPGEnc freezing up

TMPGEnc freezing up

i am converting an avi file using tmpgenc plus. however, after the source position reaches 38mins it freezes up and stops. all other avi have converted correctly. is there anyway i can fix this?

Does the file play ok as an avi or does it freeze or skip at the same time (38 minutes) ? Do you have enough space on your hard drive?

no. the avi freezes at 38mins too.

That most likely means that the file either has an indexing problem or bad frames. Try using DivFix v1.10 on the avi (you can get it in the Tools section of http://www.rita.lt/ - check the file for errors first, make sure you have the box checkmarked to "keep original" - if it's an indexing error you can try rebuilding the index first and see if that fixes it (DivFix will create a copy of the file with the name DivFix in front of it), if that doesn't help you might want to checkmark the box "cut out bad parts" which will allow divfix to cut out the bad frames... How much of it will be cut out depends on how many bad frames there are, it might cut out an unnoticeable section of the movie, less than a second, it might need to cut out more.
