What addons to winmx are you running?
And anything else you think might have bearing, nothing to small.

hi again!! am finally able to upload and download--winxp,dsl with router(unable to changer ports here) norton 2005(exception to always allow confirmed), have settings set to unable to receive or send tcp-udp......everything was right on my computer---what enabled me to upload and download was firewall settings on puter where router is connected----right clicked on internet icon/change firewall settings/exception tab/programs and services--winmx application--edit/change scopecheck custom list and put in all ip addresses of my puter, the one for the router, and the puter where the router is connected----then i installed the pie patch on the puter where the router is connected and did ipconfig /flushdns--------------uploads, downloads, searches and chat room lists are all working fine now, however i still get disconnected quite often and takes a few minutes to get reconnected but all in all is working as normal, lol.......just thought this might help a few who have tried everything like i have

then i installed the pie patch on the puter where the router is connected and did ipconfig /flushdns

Are you using Internet Conenction Sharing?
I hadn't even thought of that as a possible issue until now- but it makes sense that it could be a problem. From what you're explaining, it sounds like the computer that is sharing the connection does the DNS lookups- not the computer that is requesting the IP. If that's the case, it would make sense that you'd need to update the hosts file on that computer, not the one you're using to run winMX.....
I'll have to look into this.

Winmx took an hour to connect last night, i updated the pie patch today after having the same problem and noticing the winmx site was now telling me there's a newer patch, its still taking ages to connect 15 mins last time, it was fine before yesterday and connected seconds after disconnecting, since i'm only able to use a secondary connection if it takes ages to connect i lose my queues.

When i got to the winmx website it says update the pie patch but i've done it twice with 2.9 but no change.

NVM the problem has vanished.

Hello again. Before Christmas, my WinMX was working brilliantly. Now I can't get beyond P=8 S=0.

I have retried the patch, checked all the other settings, 'been patient' for hours and hours.

Yesterday I could gain access to the chat room, today I can't.

Help again please.

Greetings all... started reading thru old posts, didnt see any that (i thought) would help, so im posting my own circumstances... any help would be awesome!

What operating system? (WIN XP pro) ?
What patch are you running? (pIe auto w/ peer guardian lite)
What instructions specifically did you follow? (all on vladd44 page under pie auto updater)
Who is your isp? verizon dsl

I presume that means your problem is fixed?

If so, :D
