I have done everything, and now am back at a Primary connection, but P=8, S=0, and no-one able to download from me. If I switch to a secondary connection I get connected, with very slow uploads, but no downloads.
I have tried to contact v44 via the chat page: again, nothing happens.
I have done all of the 'Magic Formula': I have reconfigured my router, flushed dns, turned dns off, reloaded an 'approved' WinMX. And I don't believe that my ISP (Supanet) blocks up/downloads at all.
I am sure it's something simple....
you could try changing ports, a friend of mine had some success for a spell using TCP 1547 (laplink) & UDP 5631 (pc anywhare) .. assuming you use neither of these.catch wrote:Cox is my ISP
there were problems with connection in the sense that it would often die; but it was never like this - not able to connect at all Crying or Very sad
Current sys: WinXP, McAffee, Zone Labs - but it is the same config i used in the beginning of the year and then winmx still worked..
tried 3.53 and 3.54beta - i just don't know where to begin with
Winmx is one of the expections in my firewalls settings but it still won't work.Bearded Blunder wrote:I agree with bob here BendMX shouldn't interfere with your ability to connect, one way or the other, just be aware if you try with bend installed that it puts it's OWN WS2_32.dll in your winmx folder, which should NOT be deleted, it's required for BendMX to work.. please if you got your winmx here & pie patch, ignore that particular instruction.
As to your connection issue, what type of Internet connection do you have?
Many cable/dsl modems contain routers without it being obvious, & these often require that you either set port forwarding, or set your PC as the "default server" which causes it to forward ALL ports to you.
If you set both TCP & UDP during setup to "unable" & try making a secondary connection, you may have more luck, if it connects in this (less than ideal) configuration, you can then look at port configuration later.
Lynne wrote:What operating system? = XP
What patch are you running? = After trying two other patches now using Mxpie 2.9
What instructions specifically did you follow? = http://www.vladd44.com/mx/piepatch.php (amongst others)
Who is your isp? = telefonica (Spain) broadband
Router? = no
What addons to winmx are you running? = none
And anything else you think might have bearing, nothing to small.
