Rageful Jewel:OS: 98
Patch: PIEpatch 2.6
link: http://www.vladd44.com/mx/peercaches.php
What instructions specifically did you follow? automatic install
ISP: SBC DSL
Router: Linksys
What addons to winmx are you running? None (that I know of)
Are you unable to connect? If so, I'm going to ask the same question I asked Ade earlier.
Fire up WinMX- do you have a message box in the upper left corner, just below the blue status bar?. . . One other important question- did you use WinMX before Frontcode went offline, Prior to Sept 20'th and if so did you change any settings or reinstall WinMX since then?

When I statrt up WinMX, there is no message box in the upper left hand corner. I also replaced the host files after I found out that WinMX was no longer operational with Frontcode. Before that I had used WinMX with no problem. The version of WinMX that I have 3.54 beta 4. Before it was 3.53.
bendmx as well, could that be the prob?

Starwberry wrote:Hi, I uninstalled winmx when I couldn't connect cause I had that prob in the past and restalling it helped, I didn't realise at the time what happened to winmx. I've since d/l the 3.53 verison and the PIEPatch 2.6 and followed the instructions on the front page of this site, just installing it and hoping it'll do the rest but I still can't connect. I have windows xp, isp=aol, no router and run bendmx as well, could that be the prob?
Thx!
