Still can't connect...

My hard drive was recently wiped clean and reloaded due to nasty new virus. My computer tech was able to save the WinMX program and I reinstalled the 3.5 patch but I still can't connect. I followed the directions and checked to be sure the files downloaded as specified and added the program to the firewall allow list. Still no connection. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks....

Uninstall the 3.5 patch, its old and useless. Uninstall Winmx.

Start over.

Install both, once your done, in the bottom right side of the screen, right click on the MXpie icon and select manually update, then your done!

k this is how u remove the version 3.5 and reinstall with Pie Auto Updater :

If u r using MXPIE patch version 3.5, pls update to Vladd's patch (Pie Auto Updater) this way :
1) Go to C:\Program Files\mxpie and run the uninstaller there
2) Pls uninstall yr mxpie patch and and Peer Guardian2 at Start » Control Panel » Add or Remove Programs
3) Download Pie Auto Updater from here: http://www.vladd44.com/files/PieAutoUpdater.exe
4) Click on (Run)
5) After installation.. You will see 2 icons on yr sys tray : Pie Auto Updater icon and PeerGuardian Lite icon
6) Right click on the Pie Auto Updater icon then click on *Manual Update Now*

Restarting yr WinMX (this step is optional) would change the message at the top of yr winmx to *Click for Web Help Live Help at Vladd44 Help Room_BDC5A4DE411C* This confirms yr Pie Auto Updater patch is correctly installed.

k invictus, what is the sentence u see at the space left of yr Ignored button at the top of yr winmx? (Yr Ignored button is the one with the red circle on it.)

Hello, Kay. I got bumped the other night and can't reconnect. Neither primary nor secondary connections work. I just installed the new patch and WinMX v3.54 beta 4 as suggested above. I have ports 6699 (TCP) and 6257 (UDP) forwarded in my router. I also upgraded ZoneAlarm last night, but I have the old installer if I need to roll it back. Do I need to try different ports or what?

Hmmm. I immediately got a secondary connection as soon as I disabled port forwarding. Weird.

I just checked with Bart ... he is connected on pie auto updater and having no problems now.
