Start DVD Region Killer + PowerDVD and close automatically ?

Postby Pest Patrol on Wed Nov 16, 2005 3:36 pm

Kinda unrelated, but maybe someone can help ? I'd like to be able to start DVD Region Killer so that it launches PowerDVD automatically, then closes when PowerDVD closes too.

Before you ask, yes, it's possible to launch DVD Region Killer on Windows boot up, but that's something I'd rather not do. I just want to have it loaded when PowerDVD is running, and unloaded when it's not.

In the good old days of DOS this would be as simple as a batch file... is there something in current Windows OS to accomplish the same ?

Any help appreciated thanks a lot. :)

I use DVD Region-Free and I have it set to launch only when certain applications like PowerDVD are started (not the other way around like you mentioned) - I set that up in the options of DVD Region-Free but have never used DVD Region Killer so I don't know what the options are there. However, DVD Region-Free doesn't close after I stop running the applications that launched it, I have to right click on the icon and exit it from my taskbar, and I don't know if having it close automatically is possible. (DVD Region-Free isn't free, in case you were gonna ask.)

You can still use a batch file, although I've never had one check to see when a program ends. On top of using the batch file, you can create a shortcut to this batch file and then customize the icon.
