well you could start by setting it to block all cookies and downloading nothing but the best way ive found it to just clean it once a week and be satisfied with that. cause if you block all cookies and download nothing it really limits what you can do on the internet...and also another good tool is spybot search and destrow you can get it here http://security.kolla.de/index.php?lang ... e=download down near the bottom are the 3 mirrors ....its a grat tool i think is much better than adaware

Try Pest Patrol - http://www.pestpatrol.com
It not only scans your hd, it also has a memory resident blocker that actively spots things trying to get ya.

It identifies viruses, trojans, malware, parasites, adware, spyware, worms, registry entries, finds keyloggers that might be hidden on your system catchin ya typin your passwords and ya love notes to PlymouthFury and butcherbitch.

Pest Patrol, which I will call "PP" from here on, also checks your startup items, and, oh yeah, SPYWARE COOKIES. -Note that it will also find ya lil secret treasure trove of what we shall call 'security tools' *wink* such as ping flooders, port scanners, nukerz, mirc toolz, and other goodies you have stashed on ya pc.

AND it will also locate and inform you that have some o' those questionable programs that we like to call p2p, which as we all know are used for that dastardly deed called file sharing, since those items in the eyes of a business could be a security and/or liability risk, or it can win ya a lil gift in the mail called a 'SubPeenus'. So take note of the list it finds (you can pick what to eradicate, and what to keep) and don't just select ALL and delete if ya wanna save ya goodies. (Although, this might not be all bad if it deletes a certain piece of scumware beginning with the letter 'K' from some lil jr high teenies pc's.

So anyway, you can check that one out.

It's a bona fide software program that you run from your pc, but they have something new which is a FREE ONLINE PEST SCAN that you can check out. The URL is: http://www.pestscan.com/

Pest Patrol is not a free program, but we all know how to do the dance to get it *ahem* free. However if some sunshine and a butterfly of love flies up your butt and you feel like unclenching your cold clammy brittle grip of death off that puny thing you call a wallet and buying it, you can feel all warm and cozy inside knowing that ya 2 cents are going toward some guys who are fighting against that f*ckin slimy spycrap that put ya in the situation ta begin with. The guys there at PP inc have even gone far enough to support new legislation AGAINST spyware companies called the Safeguard Against Privacy Invasions Act.

http://pestpatrol.com/News_Media/Releas ... lation.asp

So if ya gonna fork over something to anybody, I'd say give it to these guys and winmx rather than the Recording Industry Assholes of America or droppin a Benji on that hottie at the club that turns out to be good from far but far from good after ya rid of ya beer goggles. But hey, ya can always spend an intimate night at home with your collection of 'fury pics.

Get 'PP' at http://www.pestpatrol.com (free trial download) or at ya local neighborhood WINMX (searchie searchie...)
