Slow Upload Speed

Postby Ronny on Tue Jul 11, 2006 10:22 am

Hello together,
my question is:
After the WinMX servers last year were shutted down and it starts with the piepatches, my upload speed is 10 kbps in WinMX, also with the Open nap servers. My download speed is the same than before as the WinMX servers were shutted down and quiet well, roundabout 80kbps.

I tried everything in WinMX to solve the problem, other winMX version, other connections (primary, secondary), different UDP's / TCP Ports, firewall complete off, nothing works, upload speed is still 10 kbps as maximum speed. I have a T3 connection and all the other peer to peer programs which I use are working well, upload speed ca. 80 kbps.
For the open naps I use also Audio Gnome, if i use this program, i have full upload speed in the open naps, but not anymore in WinMX.
Again: This problem starts exactly as the servers were shutted down in WinMX and it started with the pie-patches. I do not know what I can do more, I do not use WinMX that much after this happens. Who likes to download from me if it does not goes faster then 10 kbps?
So I use WinMX only for my own downloads because my download speed is quiet well.

If anybody has an idea what i can try more to increase my upload speed, please let me know, many thanks.

And sorry for my bad English, my native language is German.

Greetings Ronny

Some tweak guides here :

Have a look, they may help.

I have the same problem as Ronny. I tried everything all links and try fix it every way try many ports and all programs but nothing works, its same shit!
The bandwidth upload bar at the setting is varying up and down like an elevator, its always 2 kb to 12 at max, and usually 7 kb/s. This is only for a single user, it cant be maxed out for one user but with many i can hold a steady pace of 7 kb for 1o people but 1 single user cant have good speed.

Ronny i sent you a pm.

This is very frustrating to not get it to work like it used to.

winmxfun, at WinMX Settings > at Bandwidth Throttle, click the limit incoming bandwidth to 20,000 (type in 20,000) bytes per second and also click on the outgoing bandwidth to 14,000 (type in 14,000) bytes per second and see if yr transfers become more even and steady.

Pls go to this room where we can help u online : http://www.vladd44.com/phpbb2/viewtopic ... 4707#34707

Exact the same shit I have! 100% the same shit.
It goes up and down between 2 and 12, if i'm lucky up to 15 but not more.
You've got a PN too winmxfun.

Thanks "love" for your advise, i'll try it out.

Just the obvious question besides the links to fix XP LOVE put in another post... have you tried other UDP and TCP ports?
I don't know for sure if this would have any effect.
The advice on limits from Love seems flawed. If i cap my uploads at 14,000 and then if I have 6 uploaders, each would get about 2000 each. The one with the fastest connection would suck it all up.

It works with the fluctuating transfer rates. U have fluctuating transfer rates cos yr bandwidth limits r not limited. As it is said on the winmx settings, set it at 85% of yr optimum bandwidth. I gauge both r cable users and gave them the 85%... u need to tweak it ofc.

I have seen 2 users do this and solve the fluctuating transfer rates' problem this way. So I know it works :D U just need practice :P

I did:

Thre's absolut nothing I can do more....I tried all options i could try in WinMX.
Again and oncemore:
That shit happens EXCACTLY at the day as the servers from winmx was shutted off and the rerun of WinMX with the Piepatches beguns.
And I do still believe that this is the reason for this problem because for me its obvious.
There is NOTHING wrong at my side because all the other P2P programs (Shareaza, Emule, Edonkey, Soulseek, Kazaa) I use runs all with fullspeed. The error is a error in WinMX, that's a thinfg I know 100%

Ronny, could be yr isp blocking/capping WinMX. Won't know for sure unless u come down to Vladd44 Help Room_BDC5A4DE411C where we can test u out. My screen name is Kayleigh in that room, try to look for me there.

In that case we'll have to call it a conicidence. WinMX functions 100% as it always did, and is unchanged from when Frontcode had their peer caches online.
The only thing that the PIE patch does for you is get you connected. Once you're connected, it has absolutely nothing to do with how WinMX behaves.
