I have never had the urge to name animals after people...I much prefer to name plants that way.

I have one that is a pain in the ass to take care of and requires a lot of attention that I named after my husband.

I have another that its leaves are off in all directions at once, that I named after my daughter. (reminds me of her getting ready for school/work)

I have a huge snake plant that I named after the biggest snake I know. (nobody that you know)

I considered renaming that plant that rose from the dead, Jesus Christ, but since the plant is still around, the name doesn't really fit. Maybe I'll save that name for a fake plant.
