Router Dying Out

Hey Guys.

I have a Linksys WRT54G Router. When i turn on Bittorrent it will let only about 1gb through and then die out. Once i restart the router it will work fine. Other programs dont have such a problem ie. eMule, Limewire etc.
I have opened up ALL the ports to my IP, and all firewalls are down, STILL no help there. Its just a pain in the ass to keep restarting it.

Can Anyone plz help.

Try opening specific ports rather than run dmz.

and is your router firmare updated?

yes i opened up all the specified ports. It shouldnt matter because it all works fine ... I download in excess of 200kbs and upload from 5to50 depending on the usage of the computer.

I just found out the the linksys modems, specifically mine have major flaws regarding P2P. I think i might have to get 3rd party firmware for it to work from www.utorrent.com. I hope i dont screw it up lol.

Yes, thats why I asked about firmware.

Some routers get a little sketchy when it comes to large numbers of connections transferring a lot of data.

Make sure your running the latest firmware, it may not help, but often does.

Installed the Linksys firmware upgrade and it did little to help. Now it dies out in 5 hours rather then 1 hour lol.

Do the D-Link routers have the same problem ? cuz i got one laying around.

Seriously though, try out the dlink, you have nothing to lose.

Im gonna connect my comp directly to the Internet, then share it out.
My comp will be turned on most of the time.

Well, it all worked until today ... March 08 ... Now torrent wount connect to anyone ... the peer list is empty ... Nothing seems to work ...

All torrents. No Upload/Download meter. All 0 kbs. Same router - Linksys WRT54G.
I think my ISP nerfed me lol. I hope it goes back to its normal state in a couple of days.
