RIAA vs Us....

Postby propflux01 on Tue Jan 28, 2003 9:49 am

Does anyone have an opinion or fact as to what may happen to 'us' as p2p users concerning downloading music? I heard the other day that the RIAA sued Verizon to get names/addresses of P2P users in order to make 'us' pay for our downloads.....Supposedly they were trying to get teh name/address of a Verizon user who has over 600 files of music sharing available, and they want it shut down or make him/her pay $$ for it. Any thoughts??? :? :? :?

I haven't been able to download any files for several weeks since her meating regarding file sharing. The music industry has a monopoly and they plan to keep it.
If you have any suggestions I would appreciate it. I'm certain they are not going to get every address of every or any one person in order to sue. that's a big bluff but they have sucessfully shut down 3 internet providers taht I've tried.
thanks for the question

They Can't touch us

Postby John-117-x01 on Wed May 07, 2003 12:56 pm

Bullshit

The RIAA can't touch MX

1: cos it's a decentralised prog
2: cos all mx packets are legally encrypted by mx producers. RIAA can't use any decrypted packets in court as evidence
3: Even if the RIAA does find a way to hurt us, there will be new p2p progs

Napster fell but gnutella, audiogalaxy and scour arose from it's ashes

That is quite an annoying username. I should get some language packs and use a multi-bit charactors in my username. Then I could have an even more confusing username.

Heh, And the RIAA's new method of waging war on the people that fund it's activities by actually buying a CD once in a while issss........

Sueing IP addresses!

Oh yeah. i'm sure that'll really work. Who the hell thought this one up?

Case #10249: The Record Industry Association of America vs IP: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

Just another desperate tactic in a failing attempt to keep us buying overpriced music.
