Hello all. New to posting but been here a long time and a long time user of winmx. I consider myself a semi-pro but not an expert. Recently having an issue where I am getting pinged very rapidly on the udp and tcp ports assigned to winmx by 25 different ip addresses all registered to the same company in California. They are using multiple ports on each ip address to try and connect to winmx on my ip address. This is adding up to hundreds of pings every minute for 24 hours a day and this is screwing with my router big time. I am blocking these attempts with Peer Guarding so they are not connecting to winmx but the load on the router is overwhelming. Any ideas on how to possibly stop this? I did see somewhere that the suggestion was made to contact my isp and give them the ip range of the offending attacks and ask them to filter them up stream. Has any body had to do this before and is this the only option I have?
I just hate to talk to my isp about this.
Thanks
Stretch
