program to calculate hash codes for winmx?

Hi. Where can I find a program to calculate hash codes for winmx?
I could have sworn I found one a long time ago but can't find it now.

Before anybody suspects nefarious tasks, all I want to do is identify the true name of a file
that I dl'd a long time ago... I figure if I can get the hash code I can search for that
and perhaps find alternate names.
