Problems with smap.php (or with me...)

Hi!
I don't know if this is the correct forum, sorry...
I installed yesterday
XML Google Sitemap Generator
smap.v1.01.zip
Made all the 18 steps, received the first email
"smap.php has updated and now includes 896 Pages in your sitemap"

but Google did not receive this sitemat and continue to give "ERRORS" to the last i uploaded as sitemap.xml ....

the sitemap from smap replaces mine ? or I need to do something more !

You need to go into google webmaster tools and set the sitemap location to http://www.yourdomainname.com/smap.php.

Technically it make be more of deleting the link to the xml one in google webmaster tools and added the new location.

smap.php will be where the output of the map is displayed, it will not affect your old one in any way.

DONE ! and obviously is " Awaiting " ...
Now.

1 = the smap give 896 URLs when there are more than 2000 pages .... Is it the smap limit ?
2 = must I delete the sitemap.xml ?
3 = what must I do now ?
4 = There was a lot of pages added yesterday and the new email arrived with the same 896 pages as yesterday....

Your using this on Joomla?

I have already modified a version of smap for phpbb3, and plan on adding Joomla as well. The phpbb3 version will be out before midweek next week.

I am not sure about potential time constraints in early January, but if I get a few hours, it doesn't look like it would take to much to add Joomla.

By this moment Google received OK the sitemap format from smap.php as you said me to do, with a total of 896 URLs, later they'll give me the number of indexed URLs.

I understand that I must nothing to do from now and the script updates daily the sitemap...

I install smap and give it 777 access to folder scache but still have a problem = "Can't open file"

Please help me.
