Does anybody know what creating a chat room entails? I only ask because I believe I have everything set correctly (primary connection, incoming packets, etc.) on my cable connection, but when I create a chat room, nothing happens. If I try to make one again within 30 seconds or so, it will say that I am already running one, but I don't see it. Thanks for your help!
You need to be able to have a primary connection to winmx - a processor faster than 266Mhz (though there is a option to override) - Good upload speed (not all cable and dsl can host a channel on winmx) - you have to be able to accept UDP Packets (if i screwed up udp and tcp - sorry can never keep them straight for some reason). Pretty much that sums up the requirements ... oh! if you have a firewall or router make sure it is configured to winmx ports properly. If you have all that sorted out you shouldn't have a problem hosting a channel.

I meet all the requirements for primary connection, my cable speed is 1.5 Mbps and I get all incoming packets, because if I wansn't I wouldn't have incoming WinMX Peer Connections would I? But no, when I create a channel, nothing happens. It just sits at the room list.
You didn't provide any information on OS - router/no router, firewall etc so I have no clue what the problem could be.... you initially asked

and I responded.
So go back to the beginning. You say you meet all the requirements for hosting - so set everything back to default and start fresh one step at a time. Something is preventing you from creating the channel ... )self evident i know )
when you click on the host new channel button - pick a name - then click on "ok" it "should" put you into the room you created right away...
