Problems caused by downloading torrents files.....?

Hi all,i have been encountering this problem recently.Every time after turning on my azureus/bitcomet for some time,i will not be able to surf net using IE. I have to restart my comp in order for IE to surf properly again.
Is this cause by the torrents download?or can there be other factors?Am i the only one facing such problems?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Simply stopping the download doesnt help?

and are you running xp with service pack 2 ?
