I downloaded what shold have been a large video file. The file suffix was .sfv, but when I try to play them windows media player opens automatically. They play, but there's no picture only sound. Anyone have any advice?

A .sfv file is used to check the integrity of a group of files..

Anyways... sounds like you need codecs to play your vid file, I would suggest that you get VLC Media Player
it will play damn near any video file, including .bin and files inside rar files. No codecs needed.

Oh, and don't use WMP, it is teh suck!
