phpbb2 is very nice, you can make it look any way you want phpbb3 is a pain, there are no themes for the thing available and few know how to make a theme. Including me.

Well, there are lots of new options, superior admin functions also, then theres the themes, well, even though its early days for 3, there are already stacks of themes about, you just have to look around, i must have veiwed several hundred before i settled on my choice.

I like phpbb2, but there is no doubt in my mind 3 is way superiour, although being so complex is does take some getting used too.

But still a vast improvement over 2.

I originally liked phpBB2 more as well, but over time I found the flexibility with phpBB3 to be very nice. From a code point of view, it is a lot better... not necessarily as easy to get your head around, but once you do it is very clean and easy to use

Its sounds stupid...phpbb3 gay.

I never worked with phpbb2.
But features, mods and vast vast vast community let me choose it over other forum scripts.
Its really tough but enjoyable time to install a mod. Once you get it working, you feel like battle is won.
There is hardly any module I cant figure out how to install, people of phpbb help me a lot.
Running it on my site
but wanna ask the site is currently on 3.02 and if there is a minor version update, will the installed mods work fine?
