I had a conversation with Plym the other day in which we discussed the results of Obama getting elected.

He was trying to get a small wager on the election between us going, but we had difficulty finding something we didn't agree on.

But eventually we found one....


He asked me this question "If Barack Obama is elected do I think there will be an assasination attempt in the first 12 Months in office?"

I said "Yes"....and once again we agreed....but finally the next one was one we did not agree on.

That was a followup. "Will it be successful?"

My answer "Yes". I followed it by the belief that Obama could very likely be the first US president admittedly killed by a group of people and not a lone gunman. A team of 3 with a support team of another 5 people would be about as big as I could image without a snitch in the group.

So now we have a bet

We called the pre-inaugural phase off limits, if it were to happen then we agreed to just go celebrate with the bet being a push.

I am just curious as to what other think regarding the same question.

And if it is someone that would be worse than him, it would be his 4 year insurance policy (like Cheney is for Bush)...unless they got them both at the same time, which would be much more difficult than just getting Obama.

If I recall they used the experience angle on Cheney being a good choice last time. How much more experienced is he now after serving as VP for 8 years?

And how much more bipartisan can you get ?

Or perhaps a real twist, each candidate could choose the other as their VP.

Obama/McCain vs McCain/Obama.

This could potentially allow an end result more in line with the constitution before political parties got their dirty hands on it and modified the way we choose presidents.

Vladd, I seriously doubt that you are wrong on this, but I do think though that any attempt would fail as the first Afro-American President will undoutably have the tightest security of any previous President. I have to say I find the european hypocritical politicians hilarious. They almost want to applaud the US along for voting a black man as president as if we are some provincial backwater that needed enlightening.

Obama/McCain it really doesn't matter. The "economic stimulus" will ultimately fail. We are almost 100 years into a product with a 80 year shelf life. It is only by incredible convergence of bullshit that we made it this far.

Markets correct themselves, even artificially manufactured ones.

Honestly, I think what are heading for is best defined in terms such as catastrophic failure.
