not recording

I've had this problem ever since I got this PC. If I hook up my decks or any external audio source to my "line-in" in the soundcard, tit will just record dead air and no audio. I've tried recording in SoundForge, Logic Audio Platinum & Total Recorder 4 but still no joy. This PC say's it has a Creative AudioPCI model ES1371, ES1373 WDM so I figure it must be my drivers as I've installed my Terr-DMX6Fire soundcard of my other PC and that works fine.

Anyone got the same Creative s/c as me? Any have the same probs.

Sounds familiar (not now but many, many moons ago)...try switching audio recording source from "Line in" to "Microphone" - if that solves the problem you can either leave it that way or go back to line in and switch the jacks in back of your sound card
