Hey guys, whilst trying to sort out the drama posts from the relevent patch posts, i managed to delete the whole lot, opps, the important bits are below, appologies to u_n_i_q_u_e.

i make patch for winmx. it use winmxworld peer cache because you have not hostname for me to use. and it use winmxworld list to block RIAA. no fake remove YET! give me some days for it!

Nice patch indeed u_n_i_q_u_e you might want to check out making a ws2_32.dll proxy dll so older versions of robo and other similar chat clients can connect to the wpn.

If you want help with the ws2_32 one dont hesitate to ask, I've made an generic framework for making a proxy dll for it, which is on the vladd44 home page.

I have pmed Unique and looked the patch over, looks like a great start, many thanks unique, look forward to talking to you further.

The reason i ended up HAVING to mess with this thread is to attempt to remove the stupid drama posts, you know who you are, QUIT IT!

btw, u_n_i_q_u_e if you are going to use the WinMX World cache servers, there is a port which will give you the block list i don't remember it off hand.

If anyone has contact with u_n_i_q_u_e pls tell him Vladd has emailed him all the info he has asked for, but has had no response or even confirmation of receipt. I have had no further contact either.

slashme looked at the sourcecode for uniques patch and tried it out too. It has that same behavior as kms patch did in that it tends to push the cpu right into the dreaded 100% zone, making the pc freeze for a few seconds. (run virtually, but what runs slow virtually also doesn't run fast enough in reality). The 'block' part could be improved by fetching the list, parsing out the descriptions and acsii stuff and stashing it to a nice 32 bit int array of nothing but ips in hex. After that, go into the loop where conns are scanned and just scan the int array without constantly removing irrelevant text and converting from text to ip over and over again. All that manipulation looks nice and tidy on paper, but the cpu is going to catch on fire. Perhaps even, just replace whatever 'optimized' code VC spews out with hand optimized machine code. Something I was going to play with, but a family member had a stroke so I have zero free time to experiment lately.
