New Ares Help Section a Work in Progress

why not have your chat room on both ares and WinMX (ie. the same channel that both networks can enter) - then you could confuse people as well

I also have been using this for months, but when that wouldnt work, i had to find another programme, and i though that WinMX would autodetect my settings, but how wrong was i!

Can you explain what you mean Sparky ?
What wouldnt work and why couldnt you set up WinMx ok ?
Most times it says that its a firewall problem or your router .

well, proboards removed my forums, YET Again, seems the bit torrent posts were promoting illegal activity, looking into a few other thnigs, hope to have something up soon, the room on ares is still in full force, be nice to see some of ya stop in, cant get a room listing for MX still, c ya all soon,. Hi all

I’m coming over from WinMX looking for a new P2P as similar to WinMX as possible to use as a temporary replacement to MX or maybe something more permanent if thing don’t improve.

I’d like to ask a few questions if possible:

1. Will ares function the same way that MX does?

2. Do we have all the same functions on MX...like - browsing in and out of chat rooms / setting our own BW / accessing NAP / sharing any kind of file extensions etc?

3. Can you download patches and run stuff like MXM to sort out my hatred of multi queuing and leeches?

4. Will ares use little CPU usage just like MX.

5. Which version should I download, Ares Regular Edition?

Well, iv installed it while at im at work!... Cant believe it works on my workstation, oo im in trouble now lol.

Anyhoo, im impressed so far, well at least at how fast the channels load.

Now imwondering if ill finaly be able to host a channel, considering I could stay on a primary long enough to do it on MX?

Im also a little dissapointed that I cant browse usersfrom the transfer screen.

I dont like how it works compared to winmx, and this hashing stuff is a bore.

Most of all, two of my HD's are external, and so when I reconnect to the network, it goes through the hashing process everytime YAWN.

At least I tried it!
