.Net Client

Postby vin on Wed May 11, 2005 5:04 am

Hi Guys,
I may get shut down in flames, but I'm a .Net developer and I really enjoy downloading files of BT, however I'm wondering if I can add my little bit by creating my own BitTorrent client developed using C# .Net

I just thought it might be a way to avoid resource issues that other clients have...

Any of the guys who have developed any of the other clients have any thoughts?

Its just a thought, and I'd appreciate constructive feedback to why it would be possible/impossible and not just guys telling me to stfu! :D

Its only a thought for now, but with effort, and help it may come through! Would it be difficult making it open source?

Any Ideas?

Cheer!

You have some goals set. OK, I will gove you some things to look at. I, myself, am doing Software Design & Development in school and for our assessment task, we learn to use VB.NET. I know, therefore, that your project will not be easy. I hope that you have the endurance and persistance to carry on with something like that.

OK. Start there and look at other source code to get an idea of how to program the protocol module. Other things I recommend you look at are features. You would want to put as many in as you can on the first release of your program so think of things beforehand. Well... also try to ask on developer forums for advice. Good Luck wiht your project, and one more thing, I'm a noob at software developing so I can't help much. What you see here is about all I can think of of the top of my head.
