how do you get around mp3 files that show that they are a high bit rate for example 192 kbps even 320 kbps, but when I download the song it doesn't sound all that good. I can hear it sounding tinny. Like 112 kbps. The new Madonna album that is out is a perfect example. Been downloading 192 bitrates but they sound like crap to me. I have a feeling these are fake files that are able to be downloaded just bad sound quality no matter how high the kbps are. How do you get around this problem? I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks.
Your chances might be a little better looking for VBR MP3's. You can distinguish these from CBR MP3's on WinMX by looking at the bitrate. VBR MP3's' bitrates aren't necessarily multiples of 8.
It's what the preview function was basically made for. Also, anyone who does this to FLAC needs to be killed. Anyone who does this to FLAC but instead of a low-bitrate MP3 uses a 320VBR bitrate to convert from should have his intestines pulled out through his mouth with a pair of rusted pliers.
