what says you file is not an avi file?
Jewish Kid: Is anyone else having problems concentrating on this? I just can't seem to concentrate.
Cartman: Maybe we should send you to a concentration camp.

ok - so there are several other file types besides DIVX.

xvid (open source continuation of divx)
quicktime (apple)
asf (M$)
mpeg
mpeg-2

and i am sure some others, but those are most common

a nice player to try is zoomplayer, as it will sometimes play thru corrupted files that other players like WMPx wont. http://www.inmatrix.com/files/zoomplayer_download.shtml

also you can explore the video in a video editor, after you find out what kind of file it is, to see what is there and or what is wrong.

AND - there is a good chance it si a fake, yes fake . there are alot of fakes these days.

Can you post the HASH for the file

A little tip

Postby Guest on Fri Jan 31, 2003 2:09 pm

Hi,
There's a little program out there called GSpot. I have found it to be a very useful tool. It will tell you what codecs are missing which affect your playback etc, it will also tell you if the file will render and point you in the right direction. I haven't had a chance to play around with it much yet so you may want to check which file types it will check. I've only been checking Divx avi files. Good luck...
