Nate, if you can get a hold of TMpgenc Xpress, that will do it, but you need to manually set the codec up (i.e. enter the bitrates, etc.) so hopefully you know how to do that using a bitrate calculator or the built-in bitrate calculator in divx - you'll also need the QUicktime plug-in for Tmpgenc, which is called QTReader.vfp, which can be found by just googling. SO what you need to do is just start new project (load the .mov) and tell it to make an avi by choosing the output, when you get your output screen up by VIdeo output it will probably say uncompressed RGB, you should click on Settings and to compress you choose the codec, divx or xvid or whatever, once you've chosen it, then you click on Settings on that screen and it will bring up the properties of the codec where you can set up the quality, bitrate, etc. After you set that up you should have the codec name next to video output.

Thing is, i've never been able to compress the audio well in tmpgence xpress, what I usually do is leave the audio file as an uncompressed one and then compress it later with an audio converter to make it an mp3, and then remux it later with the video. IF you don't care about the filesize then you can just leave the audio uncompressed. Or maybe you'll have more luck with converting audio in Tmpgenc xpress than I have.

Not the easiest way and I'm sure there are other ways out there that are easier, but it's how I do it.

You can also try using RAD VIdeo Tools which is SUPPOSED to convert .mov files but I haven't had much success with it, I've got that for download on www.rita.LT

Hope that helps
