Mix Album has tiny gaps in between tracks, how can i cure?

Postby ..Ñøßߥ.. on Wed Jun 16, 2004 3:07 pm

Hi all

Recently DLed a mixed album via BT, however all the tracks are separate, which is ok as on the original they would have markers, however when i play it as an album there are small gaps (around half a second) between tracks. Can i cure this and burn it as it was intended?

thanks in advance

Seems to me if the tracks are separate then the gaps are due to whatever player you're using taking it's time changing to next track. When you burn to CD (I assume you want to burn a CDA format CD) the burning software should put them together like any other set of tracks.

Your CD burning software either lacks the ability to modify the length of pause between tracks or you did not configure it.

Nero won't allow you to remove pauses, as they say "it's the CD standard" :brown. Roxio's EZ CD Creator 5.X used to, I haven't used the newer versions.

Last time I used Nero, it did allow me to remove pauses.

If they are all separate mp3's they may have silence inserted by the encoder. Some do insert silence. So even trying to remove the gaps with the burning software may not be effective. Personally, I'd open them in a sound editor like Sound Forge, and look at the wave form to determine if there is silence, and if so, remove it from each track, and then burn (removing the gaps also).

If it is a silence inserted problem then it isn't a problem. mp3DirectCut will easily remove it from any mp3.
