Jumpy Video, OK Audio

I am having some problems with several of the movie I have downloaded lately. The video is jumpy and the audio is OK. I ask a round in my chatroom, but no real good answers.

I have downloaded many movies and music files. Of course there is the occasional problem file, but this is something totally different. I even downloaded some of them a second time. and had the same problem. And it's not all the movies, but quite a few of them. And it's just been the last month or so. Are there some new codecs recently? I dl mostly DVDrip quality movies. Do you guy have any ideas??
