Joint Stereo

Postby leepeach on Wed Jun 02, 2004 8:49 am

Does anyone recommend using joint stereo? I've heard good and bad reports on this. Does it affect the sound (as much as you would notice it) when you play it on a normal hi-fi?

This is kinda a non-issue! If you're using the right tool to create MP3's (something using LAME.EXE), then you should be using the Alt Presets, and so whether or not to use Joint Stereo isn't really up to you; it's used by default in the Alt Presets.

This should answer your question :crack :crack

As far as quality of reproduction, mp3 and Hi-Fi is an oxymoron. Don't want to climb  :dap

LOL... true. But CD and hi-fi is also an oxymoron.

Use Lame with the Alt Presets for the best quality MP3's. The Standard preset is considered to be "transparent" for most people, meaning that you shouldn't be able to tell it apart from the original CD tracks.
