you shouldn't join them...
if you are getting two parts or three of the same movie, you should always look to que them up from the same source, or look that the filename is the same... also if it is several parts of the same movie, people do not split their files in the same place, so you might be missing some or have overlaps if you have different parts
but i don't even know if that's what you mean, so a bit more info would help - what kind of "files" and why do you need to join them?

if download csi seizoen 4 all 23 afl iwant htem on dvd there can be placed 4 on 1 dvd the 4 files have the same name i try to join them with easy video joiner but he cant join them so i fix them and then avi to dvd video converter cant see the files any more so i want other way to join the video files how can i see what is not the same in the files ?
I still don't see any NEED to join them together. Why don't you just encode each episode separately and then burn 4 of them to dvd as separate episodes? All you will have to do to watch them is click the arrow or whatever it is on your remote in the menu to play the next episode, just like you would select chapters from a menu for a dvd. So my only question is, why do you HAVE to join them? I don't know the software that you are using, but you should encode the avi's to dvd mpegs and then author the mpegs to dvd format, and just burn them to dvd as four episodes.
