ISPs Slowing My Speeds Down

Postby Krisma on Mon Oct 29, 2007 11:22 pm

I've heard that some ISPs are now running some type of block program to stop people from using P2P. I've also heard that there's something I can do to stop them from doing it? Does anyone know what is out there to combat this?

Also, I've noticed that the new recommended version of PG has my WinMx using more System Resources than the regular Peer Guardian I was using before. If I run both version of PG, will that cause any problems?

Thanks.

U shd not be running PG2 which is very cpu intensive. It hogs cpu resources. So uninstall yr PG2 1st from Start > Control Panel > Add and Remove Programs : simply locate PG2 there and uninstall and remove it... if u have PG2 running, u may have mxpie patch running as well which can cause patch conflict when u run both mxpie patch and Pie Auto Updater together. So u need to remove yr mxpie patch as well. Do it this way :

Download (Pie Auto Updater) from here: http://www.vladd44.com/files/PieAutoUpdater.exe

Click on (Run)

After installation.. You will see 2 icons on yr sys tray : Pie Auto Updater icon and PeerGuardian Lite icon

Right click on: Pie Auto Updater icon then click on *Manual Update Now*

<<< this shd overwrite yr Pie Auto Updater over yr mxpie patch and stop all patch conflict.

Running PGLite is all u need, not BOTH PG2 and PGLite. And PGLite comes automatically and included in Pie Auto Updater.

Come by to Vladd44 Help room here where we can help u with yr isp capping problem : http://www.vladd44.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=6514
