Help with ABC Torrent Program Error Messages

Postby mjolnir13 on Mon Oct 17, 2005 5:21 am

I'm having a major problem with my torrent programs -- I've tried TorrentStorm and have gone back to ABC. The problem is that the torrents just stop in middownload....I've tried everything I can think of to fix this problem, including switching OS program (XP Home to XP Pro and back)...even reformatted my hard drive approximately 10 times in the past 4 days.

I recently started getting an error message to see the abc.log file. Following is the error messages I saw:

File "BitTornado\RawServer.pyc", line 146, in listen_forever
File "BitTornado\SocketHandler.pyc", line 336, in close_dead
File "BitTornado\SocketHandler.pyc", line 340, in _close_socket
File "BitTornado\BT1\Encrypter.pyc", line 188, in connection_lost
File "BitTornado\BT1\Encrypter.pyc", line 150, in sever
File "BitTornado\BT1\Connecter.pyc", line 207, in connection_lost
File "BitTornado\BT1\Downloader.pyc", line 85, in disconnected
File "BitTornado\BT1\PiecePicker.pyc", line 91, in lost_have
File "BitTornado\BT1\PiecePicker.pyc", line 97, in _shift_over

Can anyone help? Thanks.

If you have a router, make sure it is configured properly for optimal downloads.

Also verify your firewall is set up correctly.

Have you ever tried Azeurus as an alternative client? I've had great success with it.

I've given up on ABC as I suspect it has issues with XP Home & Pro. Right now, I'm using Torrentstorm. Whatever glitch doesn't seem to be affecting it any longer.

I did download Azureus along with a couple of others so I might give it a try.

Thanks.
